In a recent senior summit held by St. Mary Development Corporation with the Dayton Business Journal, President Tim Bete stated, "Many seniors are cost burdened, meaning that they pay more than 30% of their income on housing. This results in these seniors not being able to afford basic needs such as food, transportation and healthcare. In our four-county area, more than half of senior renters are cost burdened.  Nearly 25% of senior homeowners are housing cost burdened, too."  For more information about senior demographic trends for our area, and to hear the panel of experts from the senior summit talk about on the issues facing seniors in our communities, go to www.StMaryDevelopment.com.
